While connecting to a VPN via Windows 7 VPN I got the above error.
Here’s how to fix it:
1.Right click on CMD and run as Administrator
2.Type in the following commands
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
3.close window
4.reboot computer
